How do I ride a Lynx bus?
First locate the official LYNX bus stop. Bus stop signs are marked with a pink paw print or pink bus logo with the Link (route) number in black below. The numbers indicate which buses use the stop. The stop may serve several LYNX bus routes so be sure to get on the correct bus for your destination. Destinations and Link numbers are displayed on the front of the buses above the operator (driver). When you see your bus signal to the operator, indicating you want to board and if paying with cash have your money ready. When you reach your destination pull the cord to indicate you wish to vacate the bus when the bus comes to a standstill exit via the rear doors when the green light comes on above the doors push to open.
How to identify your bus
The Link number (or Route number) tells you what route the bus is travelling on. The Bus identifier can be found located around the bus and is useful if you need to identify the vehicle you were riding on, if for instance you left some item of luggage on the bus you can use this number to inform the operators and hopefully get your item back.
Asking for Transfers
Sometimes you may need to change bus to get to your destination, if using a pass no transfer is needed. If paying with cash, you will require a transfer ticket from your operator when boarding. It is important you ask the operator for a fare with a transfer before putting any money in the fare box.
Bikers Welcome
For people who want to incorporate the bus as part of a bike ride there is a bicycle rack on the front of the bus where riders can put their bike/s. When you arrive at your destination remember to tell the bus operator you are traveling with a bicycle so they can give you enough time to retrieve it from the rack and continue your onward journey.
Fares and Passes
Fares are paid as you walk on using the machine next to the driver. If paying in cash place notes in the feeder on the fare box and coins on top. All day passes can be purchased on the bus giving unlimited rides for the day. Be sure to tell the operator you want a pass before putting any money in the fare box.

Taxis
Taxies are a comfortable though expensive way of getting around. Orlando is served by a collection of independently owned taxi and private shuttle companies; however, Orlando taxis and shuttle fares are not pre-set by the State, and therefore they will vary from company to company. Moreover, taxis in Orlando are not allowed to charge a flat rate, they will always be metered (except if they are a private shuttle company). This metered price includes an initial fee, an airport charge (if travelling from the airport), and a per-mile rate. Taxicabs are becoming increasingly scarce due to Uber and Lyft ride hailing services, though you can still hail a taxi in front of most hotels, resorts, and major attractions.
It is customary to tip your Orlando taxi driver. No matter what type of vehicle is used, the standard tip for a local taxicab driver in the Orlando area is 15 % to 20% of the total fare. All Orlando taxis accept payment by credit card, however, they do prefer cash payments, when possible.
Be aware not all taxis or private shuttles are wheelchair accessible in Orlando. Contact the company to check in advance.
Ride Sharing
Offering rideshare services throughout the city. You can use the Uber and Lyft app to request a ride. and it’ll connect you with nearby drivers who can pick you up and take you to your destination. The app also provides fare estimates, allows you to track your ride in real-time, and offers assorted options such as shared rides or premium services, depending on your preferences.
Wingz is another transportation service that operates similarly to rideshare companies like Lyft and Uber but with a focus on pre-scheduled rides to and from airports and other locations. Wingz may have options available for trips within Orlando, but their primary emphasis is on airport transportation and pre-scheduled rides. You can book a ride through their website or mobile app.
Note Ride sharing can get expensive when ordered at peak times of the day as companies put up prices, this can happen when there are more ride requests than available drivers. For example, at the end of the firework displays at Disney World there will be more demand so waiting times may be longer. Trips from airports are subject to a surcharge.
Be aware if travelling with young children a child a car seat may not be available in the vehicle.

What’s the difference between E-Pass and E-ZPass?
Although E-Pass and E-ZPass are both electronic collection systems used on toll roads, bridges, and expressways in the United States, E-Pass is primarily used in the state of Florida and provides discounts and compatibility with other toll systems such as SunPass and E-ZPass. E-ZPass is used in several states across the eastern, midwestern, and southern areas of the United States and is ideal for travellers crossing multiple states due to its extensive network and geographic coverage. Both systems are served by different agencies and are not interchangeable.

Can I pay using cash?
For motorists who want to pay the toll fee by cash there are toll buckets for exact change. If paying with bills have the cash ready to hand to the toll-booth attendant, bills larger than $20 are not accepted. Be aware the traffic may build up at the cash toll plaza.
Toll-By-Plate
Toll-By-Plate or Pay By Plate is for those motorists who do not wish to use SunPass, E-Pass or any other toll paying transponder system. With Pay By Plate a photo of your license plate is captured when you pass through the toll plaza. Then a fee is generated of any tolls incurred over a 30 day period and mailed to the vehicles owner including an administrative fee which at this time is $2.50.
Be aware Toll-By-Plate cannot be used on Florida managed lanes, if you travel in a managed lane without a SunPass, E-PASS or other accepted transponder, you will be subject to a $25 daily violation charge.
